Oceanside Harbor Days
Each September, the Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the Harbor District and other local businesses and service organizations, sponsors “Harbor Days”. This two-day event draws thousands of visitors to the harbor for special events, exotic foods, craft vendors, music and entertainment and much, much more. The OAA may man a booth there in some years. href="http://www.oceansidechamber.com/chamber/special_events.asp">Oceanside Chamber of Commerce
Young Eagles Educational Flights
Saturdays, once a month at the airport, Young Eagles educational flights are offered by volunteer pilots at Oceanside Airport. The EAA's Young Eagles program is dedicated to introducing aviation to America's youth. For many kids and young adults, the introduction to flight is a life changing event with many positive benefits. Please see our Education page for more EAA Young Eagles information.

Oceanfest
Public information booth at Oceanfest.
Jack Cassan Memorial Flight Scholarship
Each year, with available funding, the OAA will sponsor a selected student from the Oceanside area who has the aptitude, interest, character and as evaluated by our selection committee, is the right young person to represent the airport and the OAA- and receive flight training leading to a solo flight and solo sign off in his/her log book. In 2009, it was Kevin Williams, a 16 year old from Oceanside High School. Kev just recently, on January 1, 2009, completed his training and his successful solo flight at Oceanside Airport with a large group of well wishers, family, friends and Oceasside officials and OAA members in attendance. We will be selecting a second candidate this year and hoping to repeat Kevin's successful conclusion.
The OAA's mandate is to support, promote, educate and defend the Oceanside Airport and its continued existance and inprotance in our community- also we are pledged to support aviation and provide opportunities as we can for new aviators to find their first expereinces in flying through our organization. The Jack Cassan Memorial Flight Scholarship allows us to accomplish that goal.
We will be sending out inquiries for interested students aged 15-17 to find our next candidate in 2010.
